Ask Dr. Robyn: 5 tips on how to focus

by DrRobyn on June 30, 2010

Scatterbrained? Unfocused? Can’t concentrate? Dr. Robyn answers a reader’s question about how she can focus (the June Powerful Word of the Month!). This is one of the most common questions among Dr. Robyn’s coaching clients.

Dear Dr. Robyn,

My brain seems to be all over the place these days.  I’m horrible about distractions.  When I’m with my kids, I’m thinking about work.  When I’m supposed to be working, I’m thinking about my kids, the laundry, and whatever else I need to do that day.  And, I’m embarrassed to say that I find myself checking email, twitter, and Facebook more times during the day that I can count.  How can I get focused? –Jeanie, Hingham, MA

Can you relate? What do you do in order to focus despite distractions?
